Glucose 6 phosphate dehydrogenase G6P-DH defici8ency is one of the most common disease producing enzymopathies. The deficiency comes from a hereditary recessive character linked to the X chromosome. It can cause elevated destruction of the red cells and anaemia.
The Sentinel Diagnostics kinetic method for determination of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PDH) is suitable for samples of serum, plasma and erythrocytes. The enzyme activity of G6P-DH is determined by measuring the increase in absorbance at 340nm resulting from the reduction of NADP+.

This reagents kit contains:
R1: 1x10ml triethanolamine buffer 31.7mmol/L pH 7.6, EDTA 3.2mmol/L
R2: Lyophilised NADP to give 1x2ml 0.34mmol/L once reconstituted with distilled water
R3: Lyophilised Glucose-6-Phosphate to give 1x2ml 0.58mmol/L once reconstituted with distilled water
R4: 1x20ml digitonin 0.02%(w/v), sodium azide 0.1%(w/v)
Store reagents at 2-8C. Once open reagents 1 & 4 are stable at 2-8C for 120 days. Once reconstituted reagents 2 & 3 are stable at 2-8C for 30 days.
