Phos-tag™ fluorescent gel stain reagents  for use with SDS-PAGE gels. Fluorescein molecules combined with the "Phos-tag™" that captures phosphate groups(-PO32-) can be used to specifically stain phosphorylated proteins with the gel.

Because these stains can be used at physiological pH, it allows detection of proteins that are phosphorylated at histidine (pHis) and aspartic acid (pAsp) residues, which are susceptible to hydrolysis under acidic conditions.
