Product Information
The Wako Bilirubin Calibrator is a single level lyophilised calibrator for use with Wako Total Bilirubin (417-23295 & 419-23495) and Direct (Conjugated)Bilirubin (411-23695 & 413-23895) vanadate oxidation assays.
The Bilirubin calibrator is supplied lyophilised and contains bilirubin from bovine bile, ditaurobilirubin and sodium azide (0.005% once reconstituted). The values assigned are lot specific and based on the US NIST bilirubin standard material (SRM916) using the vanadate oxidation method. The vanadate oxidation method for measuring serum bilirubin shows good correlation with Acid Diazo method but has advantages in terms of low signal interference by co-existent serum substances and an extended stability in liquid form.
Each vial of lyophilised material is reconstituted with deionised water to give 3ml of calibrant. Lyophilised calibrator is stores at 2-C, once reconstituted the calibrator is stable at 2-8C for 5 days when protected from light.
