Cyto-Chex® BCT
Blood Collection Tubes for Flow Cytometry Applications
Cyto-Chex BCT is a direct draw blood collection tube designed to preserve cellular morphology and surface antigen expression, including cluster of differentiation (CD) markers, prior to flow cytometry analysis. Whole blood samples collected in Cyto-Chex BCT can be stored at room temperature for up to 14 days.
Cyto-Chex BCT has received FDA 510(k) clearance for reliable recovery of HIV-associated lymphocyte subsets (CD3, CD4, CD8, CD19, CD16/CD56, and CD45) for up to 14 days.

Benefits
Stabilises whole blood samples for up to 14 days prior to analysis by flow cytometry
Cell morphology and cellular antigen expression are maintained
Stabilises white blood cell panel antigens including those of the HIV panel of CD markers
FDA 510(k) cleared for consistent recovery of HIV-associated lymphocyte subsets for up to 14 days of room temperature storage
Reliable and accurate CD4 counts assured
Subsets of leukocytes can be distinguished by flow cytometry
Facilitates sample batching to reduce daily flow cytometry start-up costs
Minimises patient recalls, redraws and associated costs
95 kPa pressure differential tested for compliance with UN3373-Pl650 and 49 CFR 173.196(a)(6) specimen transport regulations
The Proof of Stability
Light scatter profiles from a blood sample drawn onto a K2EDTA tube analysed at six hours (left) compared to data from a blood sample from the same patient drawn into a Cyto-Chex® BCT tube analysed at seven days (right).
